It originated from Botolan, Zambales. This dance is a combination of Spanish and Philippine steps with flamenco influence. This is a social popular dance in the North among the Ilocanos. It is a courtship dance but sometime it is also performed during weddings and other social gatherings.

La Berde (literally, green) is a courtship dance from a mountain settlement in Talamban, Cebu. In a series of quick steps and quick changes, the dance celebrates what is lush and full of life. The dance is performed by an interesting cast of two girls and a boy, instead of the usual pair of dancers.

Maria Clara - Maria Clara is the main female character in Jose Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere -a literary piece that features the colonial situation of the Filipinos during the Spanish regime. She was characterized as a Filipina woman of virtue and nobility. This dance is a mix of Spanish gracefulness and customized native props, such as bamboo castanets and Asian fan. Female dancers wear Maria Clara dress that typifies the European style, while men are in barong tagalog, a traditional Filipino embroidered long-sleeve shirt made of pineapple fiber.
